Reinvigorating yourself – just by standing for a minute

Standing? Really? With my back aching & my knees hurting? My feet sore, and my head bent over my phone?

Are you up for trying something different? How about as an experiment & then you can decide I’m mad, or perhaps have a glimmer of a point?

Let’s spread our toes & feet within our shoes or on the floor. Gently move your weight from heel to toe. Engage the inner line of the foot. Spiralling upwards through the legs, gravity doing all the work in holding our feet steady; grounding through our calves, easing our knees, lifting the fronts of the thighs slightly.
Our pelvic floor, that sling between our legs & up into our pelvis gently engages. Our pelvis does an infinitesimal rock to & fro – as if it was a bowl of water & the level is just settling.
Now our spine, that starts at the back of the bowl of the pelvis, draws upwards with the breath & floats up the back of our trunks, with a wave that passes up the bank of the rib-cage, and up to the base of the skull.
Our necks lengthen, our chin gently re-sets to above our breastbone. A gold thread draws the top of our heads heavenwards.

Breathe, enjoy the solidity & stability of our legs & pelvis. Breathe, enjoy the flow and almost imperceptible movement upwards through the spine.
Smile & enjoy the freedom of our floating upper body. Wriggle, fidget, stretch, smile!
